Ingredients

  • 2 cups
    Carrot, diced
  • 2 cups
    Potato, cubed
  • 2 cups
    Rutabaga, cubed
  • 1 kg
    Beef, stewing cubes
  • 2
    Onions, diced
  • 1 Tbsp
    Garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    EVOO
  • 1 Tbsp
    Basil
  • 1 Tbsp
    Oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    Thyme
  • 3 Tbsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp
    Tomato paste
  • ½ cup
    Flour
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 box
    Beef broth

Directions

  1. Add to slow cooker, on high: Beef stock, carrots, potatoes, rutabaga, basil, oregano, thyme, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Heat EVOO in frying pan, add onions, garlic. Cook until caamelized.
  3. Add cooked onions and garlic to slow cooker.
  4. In mixing bowl, add flour, salt and pepper. Coat stew beef pieces in flour mixture.
  5. Fry beef pieces until they start to colour.
  6. Add beef to slow cooker.
  7. Add any remaining flour mixture to slow cooker.
  8. Mix ingredient in slow cooker. Cover and cook for many hours. 5+ hours.
  9. Check occasionally for doneness. Vegetable tenderness, flavour, etc.
